About

Biala Support Services incorporates Biala School and has been providing disability support and specialised education to adults and children in the Ballina region for 50 years.

The word “Biala” is an Indigenous Australian word meaning “Understand”. At Biala, we understand disability. Starting as a school for young people with a disability, we have grown into a trusted provider of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

We believe that every person with a disability has a right to live the best life possible. To achieve this, we tailor our services to meet your individual need and help you achieve your goals.

Our Services consist of:

Biala In-home Supports

Short or Medium Accommodation, Supported Independent Living and In Home Supports.

BIALA IN COMMUNITY SUPPORTS

Group or 1:1 activities, Programs of Support, Transition Skills to Employment and support with daily living.

BIALA GETAWAYS

Since 2004, our Getaways have been a popular offering for participants and staff alike! Whether it be an island getaway, a theme park adventure or a city escape, Biala Getaways are bound to provide you with an unforgettable experience.

SUPPORT COORDINATION

Sometimes it’s hard to get your head around your NDIS Plan or maximise the amount of funding you should be receiving. That’s where we come in! We are expert at helping you navigate the NDIS and making sure that you receive the funding to live the life you choose.

Specialised Education

Our foundation blocks to disability support. We have proudly operated Biala School for Specialised Education since 1969.
Biala School specialises in educating young people aged 4-18 years who require a substantial or extensive level of educational support and intervention.

Why we do it

We know that people with disability experience human rights violations in many key aspects of their life. We are committed to promoting change in our community by providing individualised and high quality support pathways for people with disability. We prioritise meaningful skill development opportunities to enhance lifestyle and learning.

We believe people with disability have a place in community and should be supported to live their best life.
